I know that's part of the book but it doesn't reveal the plot in its retelling with the same school, you know where you're headed the second time around and it doesn't feel as though there's genuinely a life at stake.
To top it off, the final third of the film repeats itself in a way I find so tedious as to be unwatchable. The director didn't capture the tone of the series, he goes for a kind of grim realism that I find very offputting, as if Ken Loach was asked to direct it.
